Welcome to Second Chance Dog Rescue.
Please browse through the pages, see the dogs and see how you could help us to look after these dogs until they hopefully go to a loving home.
Our top priority at present is to raise funds and to do that we really need volunteers. They are needed to man our stalls or help at car boot sales or to spare a couple of hours to just hold a bucket at a store or on our high street collection day. We are happy to have as much time as you can spare – even an hour makes a huge difference!
Second Chance Dog Rescue was started because of the high number of dogs that need rescuing through no fault of their own. To be blunt and to the point, many dogs end up being put down.
Dogs are often the victims of circumstances over which they have no control – they may be from broken homes, their owner may have died, they may have been simply abandoned. When they find themselves in these situations they are unable to do anything to help themselves. That is where we step in.
Our priority is to ensure the welfare of rescued dogs and quickly make appointments for them to be examined by our local vet for a full check up. They will also be fully assessed for behaviour before a good home is found for them.
If you would like to consider giving one of them a new home, we and the dogs would be so grateful!
Perhaps you could help by donating items such as food, blankets, bedding and toys. If you have any dog food, toys, leads and collars you can spare that would be wonderful!
If you would like to make a donation to help with our kennel costs and vet bills your help will be much appreciated. Please send your cheque payable to Second Chance Dog Rescue to: Second Chance, c/o Harley Kennels, Dolemoor Lane, Old Weston Road, Congresbury, BS49 5ED.
